About the Power of One!
This year our chapters will be focusing on inspiring scouts to have an impact on society with the theme The Power of One.
The theme is more than just a tagline... it’s a question for deep personal consideration. It’s a challenge posed to each of us to make our marks upon the world!
Beginning January 11, we will highlight individuals both past and present, weekly that have had an impact on society. Please check back every Sunday to view highlights on individuals who have made a difference. Units are encouraged to spread the message of the impact one person can have on society, and suggest possible individuals for us to highlight.
Ideas for units:
- Read a Power of One highlight each week at the end of your unit meetings (possibly as part of the Scoutmaster’s Minute.
- Read a Power of One highlight at your unit banquet or Courts of Honor.
- E-mail Power of One highlights to your unit members and parents weekly.
- Challenge Scouts to write about an individual who has had an impact on their lives.
Scouts should be reminded that the Order of the Arrow is a great means to have an impact on the Scouting community. Our local OA lodge provides leadership training and experience for arrowmen to practice and further develop and assist their units. We supply an innumerable amount of manpower to Salmen Scout Reservation to ensure that it is clean, safe and prepared to host the Scouting community year-round.
If you have gone through an Ordeal and have been inducted into the Order of the Arrow and would like to get more involved, contact your lodge chief, Michael Derbes (chief@chilantakoba.com) for more information.
