NRA Shotgun Instructor Class
Fee: $60.00
The NRA Basic Shotgun Instructor course is designed to train experienced shooters to “teach” NRA Basic Firearm Training Courses as NRA Certified Instructors. The course teaches the NRA Training methods and policies regarding conduct of training, and how to present the training courses. NRA Instructor Training courses are not designed to teach shooting skills and basic firearm functions or background to the instructors.
Pre-registration for the class is required. The fee for the class is $50.00. Meals and lodging will be provided at Salmen Scout Reservation.
The course is open to any registered Scouter, 18 years of age or older. There is a limit of 20 participants in the course. Also, we must have at least six students pre-registered for the class by 28th, 2017 for class to be conducted.
Registration is a two part process, you must complete both parts:
- Fees are payable to the Southeast Louisiana Council, BSA at the Register button below.
- To register with the NRA go to NRAInstructors.org. Select “Find a Course”. Scroll down to SAFETY, select “NRA Instructor Shotgun Shooting” course. Go to SEARCH and click BSA only and enter 70001 for the Zip code, and hit SEARCH. This will take you to the course information page. Select Click for Details. This will take you to the Course Registration page. Enter the requested information and hit REGISTER.
In order to be certified by the NRA, participants will have to be a current NRA member. There are additional credentialing fees payable to the NRA following successful completion of the course. Scouters age 21 or older will be certified as “Instructors”. Scouters between the ages of 18-21 will be certified as “Assistant Instructors”.
